Penn Township is located in Northwest Indiana within St. Joseph County. As of the 2020 Federal Census we had 68,698 residents. That ranks Penn Township 16th in Indiana out of 1009 Townships in terms of population.
Our main responsibilities in the Penn Township Trustees Office is fire protection, advanced medical services, temporary funding for basic necessities such as shelter, utilities, burial, food, and transportation for seeking employment.

To deliver the best service for our Township Assistance Clients, we have adjusted our intake process for convenience. We are open to the public by appointment, and applications can be retrieved 24/7 from the Trustee's Office, located in an information box next to the front door. To review the application with a staff member, please call 574-256-6213 to schedule an appointment. Supporting documents can be submitted to our office via delivery, fax, or email: staff@penntrustee.org. We assure timely processing of all applications to continue offering excellent assistance to our community.
